i have a new mr1 and have been thinking about a flashlight hanging off the side and scope or red dot sight for the top. does anybody have pics of their gun with something simular or can point me in the right direction.

the light is mostly for looks and probibly will be on and off the gun alot, depending on were im playing but if i can make a scope work, great. im big into the sniper look and actually have played sniper in a few games. with the 16" mr series and the long sniper scope, unsure the name or brand, i think the gun would look awsome, just to let you know what im thinking/going for

I think if you are going to do the red dot you will need a 45 deg. adapter or something like that.

I put a red-dot scope on my MR1. Here's the link http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1395310. I haven't put it into action yet but it fits on the rail. If you get a red dot get one with at least a 30mm diameter so your field of vision isn't too limited. You may want a raised sight rail just because the scope just barely clears the cocking pin.

you don't really need a 45 degree adapter. Only if you want it on the gun. I know my red-dot's a little small but I just had it lying around. I'll upgrade later.
Just look up barrel mounts on ebay, you may have to buy a longer screw to make it go around your paintball barrel, and throw everything you want on it, scope, flashlight, foregrip. All Tactical firearm accessories will work on it.

Here's what I got I made a ghetto red dot, but it works.

P.S. I used a bicycle reflector mount to hook it to my hopper elbow.

How firm is this setup on a barrel? I am thinking of adding rubber between the barrel and the mount to avoid damaging the barrel.

If the screws aren't really tight then it can slip a little bit, I added some camo tape underneath it to give some texture to grip and obviously the camo doesn't hurt. The hardest part about it all is making sure I have the grip centered at a 90 degree with the gun but it's not really that bad, just took some patience. I was worried about scratching but I haven't seen anything so far.

Offset scope does not ruin the look of my gun.

Since you are into the sniper look I happen to know that there is a Spyder MR Sereis tactical rail but be sure that it looks like the one from the MR3 and with it you will be able to mount a scope, flashlight, red-dot, or a laser sight on top of it and the handle will not get in the way of the hammer or the feedneck. Also there are tri-mounts that can be mounted on your barrel where you can place a falshlight, laser sight, or a foregrip on.
