I saw the MR2 thread and I also did a search but nothing turned up. Show some whilst I figure out the pic thing... Ok, I got it. Here is my bare bones, right out of the box, never been shot MR1. I have already been looking at some upgrades. I think that I might like the remote tank set up. My buddy hates it and is going to let me try it. That Qloader thing looks pretty sweet. Is it worth it? I might like to try it out.

I am from the old school with nelspots and pmi's. I had a tippman 68 special or carbine back in the day and I thought that it couldn't get better than that.

11-10-2007, 05:19 AM
wow. that spimmy is pretty cool. Get some eyes in there, run a gas through grip, put a really big patent on it and then when smart parts uses anything at all like that pull a smart parts on them. (sue them)
That could actually be a really good speedball gun when it's done though. keep up the good work.

wow. that spimmy is pretty cool. Get some eyes in there,
Its got eyes now, just no covers

run a gas through grip,
I'm going to run the Low Pressure line through the grip, so, it'll have that too.

put a really big patent on it and then when smart parts uses anything at all like that pull a smart parts on them. (sue them)
LOL, I could do that, but, I actually like smart parts! Anyway, no patents, I hope that someone else sees this and it gives them inspiration to do it better than I ever could.

That could actually be a really good speedball gun when it's done though.
Speedball, what's that? lol, I'm strictly woodsball/recball, although I'm hoping to get more into scenario with this marker.

keep up the good work.
Thanks! If I can ever get enough $$$ together to finish it, I will.

Q-Loader is awsome...it takes a little tweaking to get right..but once its dialed in, you cant beat it...and the low profile it gives you from the front has saved my butt more than once...lol. And for ball on ball accuracy...you can't beat the freak. New bolt and striker are next...i'll get it operating the way i want it and then we'll play with looks.

Ya, its a homemade tac-lite. Basically I took a reflector mount off a bicycle and bored a hole in the side of the light. From there hooked on the light and put the mount around my hopper elbow. I will try to get some new pics soon.

The q-loader works great..I have been using it for about 3 months now and I love it. If you get the basic kit..it doesn't cost anymore than a good auto feed hopper like a halo etc. It does take some tweaking to get it to work right..you have to have patience with it...but once it is dialed in it is awsome. At the end of the day it puts balls in the gun just like any other hopper, what it is best at is stopping those anopying hopper shots that then spray paint all over your gun and all over your mask (I hate having to look around paint splatter on my goggles because some guy hit my hopper). I am currently making some more mods to my gun and relocating the Q..will add pics shortly.

That is true for most states, but there is a story of ATF takign some guys gun, cutting off the barrel wiht a hacksaw and using to test. Then prosecuting him. Also the MR1 barrel is threaded so therefore it is removable adn could be used. Now then it has been quite a few years since any cases were filed on this subject, so I think ATF may have laxed up a bit, it is a rather ridiculous law ot start with.

Sorry to drag this off topic. I hope to post pics of mine by the first if the year. Oh I can't wait to start modding that bad boy.

Hey deano 177, where did you buy or how did you make that trigger stop? Also, how did it work when you played with it? Thanks. It worked very well. It took all the extra play out of the trigger.

Installation
It was really simple. The first thing to do is to take the the marker and secure it in an upright postiton... like this....
http://server.myspace-shack.com/d14/DSC01323.jpg

Lay out the hole so that whatever size screw that you use will fit inside the grips. Most bolt heads are much larger than the threads so keep that in mind that the bolt probably won't go through the hole in the back of the grip unless you use an allen head screw which in my opinion would look good because they are usually black. I used what I had on hand which was size 1/4X20 by 1" long screws and washers.

I drilled a hole with a #7 size drill bit. This is the size that is used with a 1/4x20 bolt tap. Once I had the correct tap size drilled I needed to enlarge the hole in the back large enough for the tap to slide through and let it line up with the hole that the bolt will actually fit in....
http://server.myspace-shack.com/d14/DSC01327.jpg

Once I tapped the hole, I then used a 1/4X20 by 1" long with 2 locking washers. http://server.myspace-shack.com/d14/DSC01330.jpg

This worked out pretty good for me. I used a sloted screw instead of a hex head so that if it ever loosens I can just stick a screw driver through the hole that I drilled in the back of the grip. If you have allen head screws that would probably work really well, too. Good luck and if you have any questions you can pm me.

It has a RAP4 Universal Bi-pod, a RAP 16" Tactical Barrel, RIS Handguard, 7/8th inch M4 front-sight and RIS Muzzle Brake, a RAP4 MR1 M4 Carbine stock, ESP Rocking Trigger, and a Barska 1x50mm Red-Dot sight.

I haven't been able to test the barrel out, but it's a little different than my previous barrel, Smart Parts Progressive 14". It has grooves on the inside of the barrel so i'll see how that goes.

The stock does fit the MR1. It replaces the velocity adjuster and gives a good sight line even with a mask because it's a wee bit lower.

I have a M4 mag expansion chamber from RAP4 that I haven't put on yet because it doesn't fit on to the gun but the part that attaches to the drop-forward does fit on. The screws on the drop-forward stripped so I need to get those off.

I am also going to get a grenade launcher for under my barrel on the RIS rail. Which would work better the short or the long grenade launcher?

I made it out of a peice of light pipe. the pipe was from one of those cheep throw up car shelters, I threw one up for the winter and it came down 2 times as fast and dented my truck up. So I used the pipe to make stuff.
To attach it to the barrel i use 2 different sizes of hole cutters one to snugly fit the inside of the pipe and then the other size for the barrel. you lightly sand till you get it just right, then take 2 short screws and go through the pipe into the wood to hold it. I also have another one i drilled holes in in a spiral pattern. total it takes about 15 min to make the one you see in the pic. its basicaly the same as the Lapco

Well the whole process was super easy, for those of you who cant tell I used cheepo canaidan-tire camo duck tape:p . It took me a litttle while to do the whole thing up because the stock was really hard to tape properly, but it was also a little tricky to make it so it wont affect my playing (i can still feild strip it and take stock off). Any comments?

Can you explain in detail how you made it and the materials you used to make it?

Ok, well it was three pieces. The main pipe is a 10" long - 3/4" PVC pipe that is threaded on both ends. Then I got a screw on cap and a screw on 90 elbow and that is it. I went to a local hardware store to get everything - and it ended up being 4 bucks. I had to use my dremel to sand out the part of the elbow that fits on the gun because it was a little small - about a 1/16" too small - didn't take long to do - then I cut little lines down the sides so that it would bend and hold to the gun when I put the hose clamp on it. here are some pics
636

637

Then I had some paint left over from when I made a fake silencer and sprayed it down twice to make it match the rest of the gun. I got a small can of "touch up" spray paint from Walmart in the paint dept. - it is used to touch up plastic and metal toys.

I didn't want to have to use PVC cement so I went with the already threaded stuff - just a personal preference. It holds 20 with one in the gun and it feeds nicely - tested it out this afternoon.

Thats really cool. A perfect sniper loader.

Here is a design that I have been kicking around in my head.

http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj145/dean0177/Paintball/untitled.jpg

Sort of along the lines with what you have but with a spring to force feed.

BYUrdneck
02-09-2008, 08:52 PM
That looks like a good set up - the only thing that is holding me back is that I have no idea where to get a spring that is that long and is soft enough so it will not break any of the balls. With my set up - I wanted to have a spring in mine - it would be connected to the end cap and after i put in the balls it would compress them as I put it back on - pushing them forward. I would loose space with the spring - but it would be worth to make sure that I don't miss-feed - but this one has not done that yet...

The only thing that I have thought of would be to get a rubber band and put on "bolt". The notch at the top would be for when you are loading, you click it over there. Dump the balls in and then snap it over. Maybe I'll try to do something this week if I get board.

I posted this before, but I'll say it again.

You can take a short spring and stretch it out.

It would make a stiff spring softer also.

I would find one in the right diameter and about 2 or 3 inches long and stretch it to fit. I'm thinking you won't need a lot of pressure to make it work.

cyberthrasher_706 , that stock is sick. i found a sick deal on a dye i3 pro/tank cover but after i plan on buying the mr stock, depending on price though, it may even be worth it to spend a lil more and get somethin sick like that.

i know the shop has them because i seen a pack of trinity mr series velocity springs i tryed to buy but i was told they come with the stocks, total bs because i was willing to pay big, i wanted them bad lol

after the stock im going to buy a new j&j and see about switching over to macro line. the braided line pinched during one of my crazy ideas (vs3 frame and asa).

a new barrel, stock, line and maybe grips then im done, i hope lol buying vs stuff is to expensive for slow winters

The silencer is not an extension its just cosmetic. I like the barrels I have it in an 8" and 14" but the 14" with silencer on it is goofy looking so I leave the M4 muzzle break on it.

hey man was it hard to get that expansion chamber on? i read it wasnt possible, howd u do it? looks good

The expansion chamber is easy to put on, you just have to buy a special adapter for it. You pull the MR1 foregrip off and remove all air lines. Get a 32 Degrees Vertical Adaptor (http://www.a-1paintballstore.com/32-Degrees-Spyder-Vertical-Adapter-Stainless-steel.html) and plug any Xchamber on that you want. I also got the male end of a remote line and attached it straight tot he Xchamber and plug right in.

I took my MR1 out this last weekend for some woods ball and I chopped 1 out of 20 or 30 balls. The rocker trigger is sooo sexy and sucks you into rapid fire and then I chop a ball and the gun shoots like sh*t. My next upgrade is the delrin bolt and HP Air instead of CO2. Hopefully with less weight and more air the gun will cycle a little cleaner and chop less. All in all I had a blast... I love this gun I just gotta stop the chops because once it chops the balls go everywhere but where I want them to.

Ok, well I am finished with my MR-1 for now, sort of. I cut down the stock barrel to where the barrel gets thicker on the thread end (overall 4" long). I am pretty pleased with it now. Now all I have to do is figure out a way to run the air line to the back of the gun and then to a remote. I played with it last week and ended up just zip tying it to the stock which worked, but was way ghetto. I can't wait to take it out now - hopefully there will be some games going on this weekend around me.

I thought you did it before - I just couldn't remember where it was posted. I am probably going to to what you did - use a 90 under the gun, because I don't have a tap set to tap a hole next to the serial number to put at 90 there. The tricky part will be finding a way to attach the remote line to the gun itself - I don't want to attach it per-say to the stock because I want to be able to fold it in and out when I want. So off to the drawing board, well probably next week - I have stupid finals this week.

Thats probably whats going to happen - I guess it will work. Because the stock takes away any adjust-ability to changing the velocity - and I want to be able to take it off quickly to put in spacers to change the velocity - and that is one reason I don't want to put it there - but I can't think of any other way to I guess it will have to go there. Its a good thing that the macro line can be popped off and I guess that will allow me to take off the stock. Maybe I can work some magic with a T fitting or something like that.

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk95/byurdneck/gunair.jpg
Basically I used a macro 90 from the gun to a straight macro connected to a female/female brass 90.
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk95/byurdneck/gunair2.jpg
Then I drilled a hold big enough for the threads of a male/female brass 90 to slide through and screw into the other 90 female/female brass fitting. Then tightened it all up and it ended up being close to a 45 degree angle when I screwed in the remote nipple. Now I can hook up my remote and it not hit my hand and it is really solid. When the stock is folded up it hides everything and looks really clean.

Now I think I am done with this gun...the only thing that would make it really nice is one of those MR clamping feednecks (if anybody is selling one for cheap, let me know) and maybe an 8" RAP4 barrel with my homemade silencer (fake of course)

Not the best I've seen, but it looks pretty sleek I think.

So now that winter semester is over - I can finally work on stuff and not worry about finals. I finished up my air lines on my CQB MR-1. Is there anyway to run the macro through the gun? Or is there absolutely no room for it.

If you check out TecSteve's post - greatest pistol ever - he ran microline through the grip frame and down to a remote nipple at the bottom of the grip. So it is possible, but it requires a lot of work done to the grip frame and you will need micro line and microline fittings. You probably could run it straight through to the back of the grip frame and then on to a stock or something...also - if you don't want the 90 degree elbow coming out of the bottom of the gun - you can cap off the original air hole, drill and tap a hole on the side of the gun right above where the original hole, and then have the bottom free of anything. Incorporating the screw holes that attached the original fake mag - you could attach a small 7/8" Weaver rail to the bottom and put a flashlight or laser or something under that. I think it would be around 3" which is just big enough for a flashlight or laser mount. I want to do that - but I don't have a tap set, and nobody that I know has one...

Hey there all. I finally finished my MR1 project, and I am proud of the way it turned out (especially since this is my first time modding, woot!). I might still do some more work to it, but it is essentially done for now. Any comments? Suggestions?

It has the RAP4 16" Tactical Barrel Kit with M4 shroud (reservoir plug cut down for flush fitting), barrel-mounted tactical laser (rarely used), Trinity clamping feedneck, MR-series carry handle with mounted laser reflex sight on In Yo Face offset mount, Bob Long single trigger 45 handgrip (with a double trigger dremeled down to a single), custom AR-15 magazine mod, and a 4 position collapsible stock. :D

Not pictured is the rest of this setup---20 oz CO2 on coiled remote line (with custom cable cover) carried on my SWAT weight-bearing harness. I love this gun!

I have one suggestion, dremel the trigger in the back to make it more blade-like. I dremeled sown the MR1 trigger into a single and it looked a lot like yours, but then I dremeled the back and:

I had originally made it look more like the latter photo, but when I put the thing back together I realized that the trigger pull went so far back to fire it I needed to actually cut off a little more off of the trigger to get it to go far enough. When I did, gone was the angle...I know i could have made it have a more hair trigger, but I didn't want to really. I like the trigger to have a little give before it pops. I might file it down some more, but it looks military issue right now, which is more what I was going for.

That being said, I thought both of those looked cool, both before and after, just different aesthetics.

Looking at your trigger more, it does seem more military issue than at first. Keep it the way it is than.

I'd love to know how you modded that mag to fit.

i talked about how to do it on the "mr1 sight rail mod" thread. just scroll down on the MR1 index and you should find it. You'll see how I did it, and it is easy.

I think LtHill had an explanation on a thread somewhere regarding how to do it another way...

Awsome, thanks.

So is the bottom on the mag open just like the stock foregrip so you can get at the screws for servicing?
