Ok so I've been chatting a lot with some PBN people lately on IRC. It's extremely simple to use. And best of all it doesn't require a screen name. It's similar to the chat we used on Otter's site.

Method #1 for joining:

Go to http://roachware.net/chat
Make a username
Once it connects, click the "Channels" tab, then choose kusachat

Method #2 (most will prefer this once they get used to it):

Download a chat client of your choice. (Silverex is a good choice for Windows)
Server name: roachware.net
Channel: kusachat

I'd like to see this work out, it can really be useful since many don't have AIM. Any questions, post them up here.

Well I was just wondering since in the beginning you said it doesnt require a screen name, then you say you have to make a username?

You just make a temporary one when you logon, you don't have to register anything. It's all built in.

oh ok, got it working.

I suggest pidgin (www.pidgin.im) since it has of the chat services people use in 1.

pidgin users open any IRC IM window and type "join\ #kusachat" and that will take you there.

Yeah, the server just doesn't have "irc" in front roachware.net, because it's easier to let it resolve itself to one of the two servers running IRC. :)

I keep getting blocked by Zonearlarm security on my computer. Gah. Both methods.

You may need to make a firewall exception to allow traffic so it can connect.

Complete walkthrough on setting up silverex since i had a few connection problems at first:

Download and install silverex (x-chat):
http://www.silverex.org/download/xchat-2.8.4-1.exe

After install open the program. Set your user name. Click add, change the title to roachware.net then click edit:
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa18/muddytaco2/chat1-1.jpg

At the top of the new screen you will see a thing that says news something, click add and type roachware.net, after that click news one and remove it. Next make sure none of the boxes are clicked (you can leave auto connect clicked if you would like to connect directly to kusachat at start up) and set username, after that click close:
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa18/muddytaco2/chat2-1.jpg

Your now back at the first screen simply click the roachware.net network and click connect:
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa18/muddytaco2/chat3-1.jpg

After it connects a new screen will appear to connect to a channel. Click connect to channel and enter kusachat, remember to leave the # in front or it won't connect, after that you should be in the chat:
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa18/muddytaco2/chat4-1.jpg

If you mess up on the last channel connection screen and don't connect simply click server> join channel:
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa18/muddytaco2/chat5-1.jpg

Enter kusachat with the # in front and click ok, you will be connected to chat:
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa18/muddytaco2/chat6-1.jpg

If you are connected to the kusachat it will look like this:
