hey guys, im trying to photoshop something for school and need some help from people that are good with photoshop. im leader of my high school drumline and we've decided to get some apparel to wear around this year. on our shirt we want to use the DC shoe logo ( our high school name is Del City, so the DC logo works well.) we need to take out the star in the pic first off. underneath the DC we want to have the word DRUMLINE in all caps and bold. if you could put a pair of drumsticks horizontal above DC that would be nice. the shirt is going to be black and everything on it is white. if some of you could help out with some ideas of your own that would look good feel free to post them.
thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out. im working on figuring out photoshop right now but i know that there are better people that can help out here.

I'll run one up on the school tablets today in cs3.

The DC shoe company logo is copywritten. If it was just (TM) you'd be okay, but with a copyright, use of their logo, or any part of their logo is illegal. If the school allowed you to use it, they could be held liable.

School is non profit they are not in any way benefiting from using the logo.

Hmmm...Wikipedia (not that they're the end all be all) doesn't say anything about non profit being excluded. It does say that in legal proceedings, decisions can be affected by intended use, commercial value, etc. I'm not trying to start a war or anything, just brought up the thought.

Yes intended use as a school project... if DC decides to practice their copyrights against a student for using their logo as a project imagine how they would look as a company, not to mention if the student decided to take it to a court the student would win, 99% of the time the "student" doesn't take it to court and settles with a slap on the wrist.

yea we're not going to go out and sell them or anything. besides how would they even find out? im not in some big city or anything. we are just using them for a t-shirt design and its not even the same when we take out the star that DC has on their logo.

heres a good image to start with. I'll have something mocked up by tommorow.
Did these in a good 20 minutes
I like the latter a bit better. It flows better with the DRUMLINE text.
That's also because I was too lazy to find a font that fit the original DC logo.
I also trimmed the back of the D in the original DC logo so it was even less reminiscent of the original, just for safety.
Decided to try this out:
Ignore my amateur Photoshop Skills. I did it because I was uber bored!

the first one is almost exactly like what I would have done, but for the D i wouldn't have cut it symmetrical to the c
