I have a spyder Xtra 07 and I was wondering if you could help me decide what upgrades to get. If there is anything you would recommend please tell me.

What I am considering so far.
Shocktech super fly bolt.
Redz pepper stick
palmers regulator
I have a rocking trigger but it is not installed yet.

I am using a remote coil for the gun and marballizer paintballs.

I'd definitely recommend a clamping feedneck. I have a ndz and its amazing. Clamps real good...any hopper, too. Pretty cheap, too.

I have a halo hopper and a good feedneck. I don't want the regulator anymore. I just don't know what bolt and barrel to get. The Redz pepper stick and superfly shocktech bolt are my top choices so far unless anyone can give me some better upgrades.

Those are both good choices. But it really comes down to how much you're going to pay for a barrel and bolt. If you can afford those 2, then I say go for it.

I've never had experience with the superfly bolt but just yesterday I took my tank to get filled and saw the peppersticks barrel and got one for my 98C and I played a night game that night (last night) using Stinger paint, which is made by the RPS just like marbilizers and it shot AMAZING

Ok I think I am going to get the pepper stick and bolt. A future upgrade will probably be hpa. I don't like stinger that much because they are inconsistent. Even though I can get 2,000 of them for $25 I still won't buy them.

If you're only going to use HPA for your spyder, I'd recommend a smaller tank. 47/3000 or a 48/3000. If you plan to upgrade in a year or so, get a larger tank...45/4500 or a 68/4500.

So my setup is going to be.

Spyder Xtra
Rocking trigger
Superfly bolt
Redz pepper stick
Dye sticky
Evil smokestack
Halo Lcd hopper
12 ounce co2
Remote coil
And in a year or so a 68ci carbon fiber tank.

Not bad. I'd recommend getting a different hopper. The TSA's are alright, but not too reliable.

I got it for $18 used so it will work for now. And I play woodsball not speedball so I don't need to fire really fast. I got the trigger because I play speedball every now and then and the stock trigger just wouldn't meet my standards.

I've heard that the TSA's like to jam. 2 of my friends had both of their's jam. So I was just recommending.

I am now going to consider I new hopper in the future. Any reccomendations?
I'm looking for something $60 and under.

eggy. Thats what i have. It is a perfect loader for your setup, you can either get the eVLution 2-19bps or the eVLution 3-23 bps and here (http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=iLtGj2pC_OxGKyyvWgOGJ2DkAK_uR7MIwPM=?Pro ductID=SmHAqArbZpsAAAEN13jyddHu) is a link to the evo 3

How fast do the TSA's feed? I really don't like the eggy. I was Looking at one of the slower FASTAS. Anyone have any info on those?

09-17-2007, 01:31 PM
13-15 BPS is what actionvillage says.

Ok thanks. I think that will be good enough. Should I get a 16" or 14" barrel?

The Pumper

14" would be fine.

What exactly would a alamocity striker do for me?

The Pumper
10-15-2007, 03:45 PM
I'm pretty sure the striker is lighter, so if you were to go LP it wouldnt need as much preassure to recock.

woukd it be able to up my rate of fire? because spyders are capped at 20.....
I want more........ even though I don't have eyes.

if you want a cood barrel I would recommend the powerlyte scepter. it's a kit but better than empire and the freak

I got a hammerhead. Would somebody be able to give me a link to a good striker that will fit the 07?

10-16-2007, 03:39 PM
I believe this (http://www.alamocitypb.com/MANUFACTPAGES/ACCESSPIX/spyderstriker.html) will fit. It should because its a newer model. The ACP delrin strikers are alot lighter than the stock one, meaning you get less of a violent force coming forward and back which means less recoil, less recoil means more accuracy.

ok thanks. now can anyone give me a link to a anti chop bolt that will fit the spyder Xtra classic 07
please help i need a fast answer.

For my '07 Xtra, I've got a J&J Ceramic 14" barrel, and I love it. It's super quiet, shoots much flatter (and further) than stock, and for the price, I think it's unbeatable.

I've also looked at the Shocktech Superfly bolts, and I think that'll be my next upgrade. The reviews look great, but will the bolt really increase accuracy/distance?

03-24-2008, 09:53 PM
I don't think any bolt can make a ball coming out of the barrel at x fps go any further than any other bolt. If it breathes better, you'll get a fps boost if that's what you mean. In that regard, you'd use less air to reach the chrono limit, so there's a benefit.

Also, if it's lighter, you'll reduce kick and that helps you hold the marker better and THAT might increase your accuracy.

Wow, we got a future forum regular! Good stuff Hylander! Very good stuff! Welcome to the boards, I have a feeling you'll be a welcome addition here! :)

As far as accuracy... It MIGHT. That's because of how the air hits the bolt (i.e. low blow bolt), and causes it to spin if any part of the flow is more than another. Anything without a venturi that has a nice, flat face without any burs or defects will flow very well and increase accuracy over a stock venturi bolt. This all talking about inches in accuracy here, nothing substantial.

When it's lighter, it also takes less air from the recocking system (blow-back) that Spyders use, so when you're getting near the end of upgrading the gun, the bolt might actually help you raise efficiency and lower pressure (thus reducing kick). You never know, though! I used to run a stock bolt that was polished to near-mirror finish, its venturi taken out, it's front rounded to "cup" the ball, and lightened the bolt with some holes drilled through it, and dremeled down to be lighter in my Spyder, and it performed the same as any aftermarket bolt out there. A little bit of work and some time, but it was worth the effort!

The only problem is.... this thread's old stuff. 10-16-2007 was the last date before the post above you, Hylander. I don't know why it was brought back, but as it isn't archived... I guess it's up for discussion.

I don't even have this gun anymore :) I sold it a long time ago.

Thanks for the compliments. I'll try. I'm still pretty new to actually owning a marker, but I went through Otter's site pretty well and have a decent understanding of physics and engineering...and stuff. :-P

I know the thread is a bit stale, but ArtofFire's message was only 10 days old at the time. Besides, there's really not much going on here in the ole X-Tra forum.

Here's to having more recent threads to comment on.

why would you get the Superfly bolt and not the Spyder ACS Bolt?

The Pumper
07-22-2008, 09:15 AM
Alot of people have had troubles with ACS. I personally would not use one because of the trouble that comes along with the spring inside the bolt.
