View Full Version : Need a helicoil installed

Alright, I got a classic timmy body lying around that is in great condition besides one of the frame screw holes. It needs a helicoil installed so the body is useable again. I'm willing to send it to someone who will install it. I will pay cash for the service, thanks.

run down to your local machine shop, they should be able to do it-cheap or not who knows, but ya have to drill it out and retap and all that, so it takes some time

It's an insert that you use if you strip threads... You drill out the stripped hole large enough to put in the helicoil... And voila, you have good threads again :p

Local machine shop should charge less than $20 to do it... It's a super-quick process... They'd likely have you done with in 5 minutes...
