so i blew out the bust disk on my tank (the 1.8) and i was wondering if that is 1.8 for a reason, or if i put a 3k on there if it would work or not. I have a 45/45 so I grabbed a 7.5k to replace the other one.

Running a 4500psi tank, go with a 5000. I would go much over that b/c you would be pushing the stress limit on the tank.

Oh your talking about the low side, sorry. Put one as close to the stock one as you can. if all you have is a 7.5 & need it this very second then it would work for now but dont run it very long like that.

Sorry

They usually blow because the reg needs rebuilding so you should just got to walmart and pick up a new 1.8k or risk blowing something and losing your hearing, hands, etc

just out of curiosity, what are those things for? and why 1.8 on the top and a larger on the bottom?

the 1.8 is for the low side of the reg, the air that goes into the marker. The 5 or 7 is for the high side, air in the tank.

so as long as im only using 4500 psi fill stations, if I put a 3000 psi on the 'low side' I should be ok?

Youzafoo if you want to start changing out substitute disks because that's all you have locally! The 1.8 means 1800psi and that goes on the reg side of the tank reg. You say you replaced the other with a 7500psi disk, is that what was on it initially? -

These high pressure tanks are noting to fool with. Replace disks only with what you removed. If you're confizzled, take it to a pro shop and let them do it right! -

the 7.5 was a 7.5. I realize that they are for safety to make sure i dont over fill the tank. but what exactly is the purpose of the 1.8k disk? is it so you dont fill the tank to fast?

A 1.8 on the low side would be there incase the reg went heywire & shot up in pressure.

No, so it doesn't over-pressurize on the LP side. They don't want your marker getting hit with 4500psi.
