I just got my Pilot ACS. I want to carry an extra battery with me when I go out to play and was wondering if any ordinary duracell, energizer, or any type of 9v battery will work in it?

Yes but not for very many shots. You must use 9.6 volt batteries

How many more shots will I get with a 9.6v battery than a 9v? Is it a significant difference, or does it not really matter?

Any type of 9v will work in your marker. I dont see the point in carring an extra battery on you during a game unless your unsure of the current state of the one in your marker.

EDIT: there is a differance but not enough to spaz out about.

K, well I'm just using the stock battery and charger that came with the gun. I leave it charging over night. The next day I take it and turn it on uncocked and without c02 and practice my trigger skills. It only seems to last maybe like 200 shots.

Your only supposed to charge it for 8 hours or til the red light turns green. The low shot count you get now tells me your battery is messed up. You can pick up used ones for less than 10 on BSTs or 15 at online stores.

I would pratice with a regular 9v & play with the factory batter.

Are you supposed to leave it on when it's charging??

NO. Turn the marker off to charge it.

So how do I know when it turns green?

A light on the charger.

EDIT: Oops, I was thinking about my car charger, sorry. Just remember what time you pluged it up. Or get one of those kitchen timers & set it for 8 hours or how ever long.

K thanks. I thing I might just buy a different charger that lets me know when it's full. If I use a normal 9 v battery charger from like circuit city or something work on the 9.6v battery that comes with it?

It might but I wouldnt try it. You can buy a charger & battery kit from radio shack & other places & use those also.

So just a normal 9v battery + charger kit from radio shak will be fine? How many more shots will I get out of the 9.6 v battery?

A normal RECHARGEABLE 9v plus a matching charger.

The 9.6v should give you several thousand shots.

How many should the 9v give me?

It should give you atleast a case or two easy. I have never counted the number of shots from different batterys. If it gets me through a game day i dont worry but I still keep a few on hand for myself & others.

BTW a "9volt" rechargeable battery is only 8.4 volts so I doubt it would work for any amount of time.
