Thanks to some helpful feedback from people on here I have made a list of better parts to achieve my goal of making my MR2 look like an M4.

Let me know if you see a potential problem. I have included links to where I plan to purchase from so please check those out as to make sure I AM getting the right part.

shroud and stock is a waste of money save the money and put a qloader, then add one the milsim look you like, there is no point in spending in $100 when you can even use the full potential of the gun

the shroud may be but the stock is a must. You can change how far you want it back or closed. helps alot when your trying to hit something far away or your about to run up close. http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p264/MR2-Woodsballer/ProteamStockOpen.jpg http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p264/MR2-Woodsballer/ProteamStockClosed.jpg

I would suggest going with a 14" J&J as opposed to the 16". 14" is really the longest I would go with a barrel because anything longer is really just wasting gas.

not sure if you've seen this but Real Action makes a Q-Loader adapter for the MR 2. Couldn't seem to find it on their site but found it on Xtremes.

I see that a lot of people say that. How does two extra inches make that much difference. Isnt the amount of gas realeased with each trigger pull the same.

Besides I am also concerned that with the Trinity Shroud I intend on getting that the barrell might be too short...anyone know how long the shroud and aim point is ?

not a big difference, a 18 or 20 inch is definitly a waste, but a 16 inst that much, you probably waste like 20 shots

the stock is a preference thing, i dont use my stock at all, and id get a 16 i think it looks better

besides where I play I get free refills for the day. So 20 shots or so no biggie

Everyone here sure seems to be against barrel shrouds. Personaly i really like mine, I play all sorts of scenario games. Lots of the games are urban combat at night or in dark buildings, if you have the shroud you can have a rail kit on it to properly place flashlights, lasersights or whatever your heart desiers. I think it also ads a degree of fearfactor to if you have a more intimidating weapon. Just my 2 cents.

im not against it, i just dont really see it as needed,

me personally i spent money on getting the best performance i can out of the mr2. to me its more intimidating when i shoot ropes at people or bunker them down, cause i dont care if people take me as a threat or not.

in the end it all comes down to who gets shot and who doesnt

dont get me wrong, i play scenario too, thats the reason why i bought the mr2,

but then agian it comes down to what the user thinks

True its not needed. BUT I WANT it LOL. I dont do the whole rope thing. I see it as a waste of money and paint. I rather get that one perfect shot than hose the guy !. And then there is the oooh factor at the field !!! This is as close as I feel comfortable to being near a real gun and playing soldier...(my wife wouldnt let me join the Marines <sniff> we were newly marrieds !) Besides I AM investing in other parts to get the gun running well. If I had been limited financially then the performance parts would have been the ONLY purchased I would have made.

too late ! ordered the J&J... :)..oh well. I 'll try this out. Its GOTTA be better than stock.

Also I have this question; If you click on my first link for the barrel and look at the pic...that odd looking flange/lip on the end of the barrel near the threads..will that fit inside the MR2 port..

chnk
08-27-2007, 07:19 PM
yes itll fit, that little flange or lip as you called it is as thick as the stock barrel, j7js are pretty skinny
