Anyone tried using cocker-style detents

instead of those annoying little pirhana nipple style ones?

It wouldn't be difficult to tap one side of the body to fit 'em, but I'm not sure what to do about the eye covers being in the way...?

Since my eye install was a bit off, I have those pirhana ones behind the ball too to keep the ball centered - so 4 total installed. I'd like to put cocker-style behind for sure.... maybe one on the right side up front too....

IIRC someone did that a while back & woorked out. It would be worth it to me since they wouldnt wear out like the stock ones.

I drilled and tapped a MR1 or 2 not too long ago for cocker style detents. The kid said it worked pretty good.

Any ideas on how to include eye covers w/those detents?

maybe mill the outside of the detent or cut a hole in the cover??

ya just drilled a hole in the cover so the detent comes through.

does anyone know of any other eye covers that might work?

I like the vertical ones that some cocker-detented-style bushmasters use, but they dont really come close to fitting a spyder...
