so i got this car ack in May of this year. i got it from my step dads brother-in-law who got it from his father. so i am the 3rd owner. it came from california with mostly surface rust and only a tad bit of rust through on bottom of the front fenders. it is a COMPLETE car besides currently being in peices.

this isnt really my kind of car, but my mother insists that it is a good first project that will give me some major experience.

BUT if some rich bloke comes along and offers me around $30K its his. :D so if you guys know any Rich Bloke that would be intetrested in this, send me a PM! im more into muscle cars anyhow.

if you want more pics of the car i have like 200. some from when i first got it and most during the tear down and now some during the beginning stages of the resto.

just thought id share my hobby. (which, by the way, is way more expensive to customize then paintball markers). so if you want to contribute to my resto then please see my getting out of paintball thread. link in sig.

Keep working on it. I wish I had the money to restore a car, maybe some day.

yeah, i havnt bought anything for parts yet and im hoping not to have to buy much. but what costs the most is tools, the $$ just adds up. ive spent well over $1k in the past 3 months just on tools, and i dont have a steady job, and i wont let my parents pay for anything. i dont want them getting "invested" in a project that may never be finished. money will deffineytly become an issue next year when i get my license, so i better pour all i can into it now!

for folks that have a family to think of, just do your homework when you start a project like this, if your buying a car online, go see it in person, and dont buy anything with alot of rusted through spots. shunut, if you could convince the wife to get on the wagon with a project like this, it could turn into a family project, it may take forever to complete, but eventually it will get done, and it will be something that the whole family is proud of....

Make it into a nice sleeper. Classic on the outside with some white wall tires and a monster under the hood. Paint I would say a midnight blue would be nice.

keep it as original as possible inside and out, but put a beastly engine in it. That would deffinetly get looks. Seeing a pretty sleeper fairlane with a wicked sounding exhaust. A true tire burning model.

I would go with a full frame off resto or a sleeper. 434ci EFI roller camed Cleveland stroker....... ahh Ill stop drooling now. That will lay down an easy 550lbft & 500+hp:p

It is basicly a smaller 2 door version of the Mercury Commet. (we had the Commet, year newer then the one you have there.. same front/interior.)
Slap a V8 in it like we did with dual straight pipes. You won't regret it. Who says it can't be a mucle car. :D

(Edit: Just noticed it has a small V8 in it already... >.< Put a bigger one in. Heh.)

theres not really any cash flow. just when ever i get cash, i either put it in the bank, or i buy tools.
