got some pics and a vid from the tournament we went to this past weekend.
we took our team of 5 "merged our youth and rookie team together" to kmt's 3 man event. we didnt do to well since we werent used to playing with each other. but it was still alot of fun. the refs and players did there part and there werent any issues. we plan to go back but hopefully with 2 teams next time that way we can keep the teams how they work best.

anyways.. enjoy.

You guys all play with your hands all over the barrel... I mean, support is great, but don't you like a little more leverage for snap shooting?

lol i noticed that 2. imo its much better w/ hand on reg but whatever floats your boat.

I snap better with my thumb over the barrel. I've found my snaps quicker that way, and I have better control.

^^^ Me, too. I find it's faster, and I can keep the same position moving back and forth easier.

Yah, I think its just all around more comfortable to hold the barrel, plus like the 2 above me I think my snaps are faster that way. Oh and yes my SE lens is dyed purple :p

Yeeeah boy! I will be at their D-day too!

Heh.

I play with my thumb over the barrel/over the guage along side the body. Comfortable and easy to move with. No?

Be careful with that lense dying... I know a kid around here that was doing that for Profilers and Proflex's and we don't allow it at the field anymore because of it weakening the lense.

yea, its recommended if you do any ghetto tinting that you use the stick on car window tint.

I don't mean to call out on him, but the guy with the Marq really needs to work on his form. You can't lay down accurate snapshots if the body of the gun is at your mouth and the hopper is in your lens. Just as well, OTB he shouldn't be shooting like that

Maybe it's just what I'm used to, but it looks silly anyways.

Overall, though, looks like you all had fun, and that's all that matters, right?

HelpDeskHustler

I mean, I'm all over the top of the reg, but over the barrel usually is too far for me, and like leed said, especially off the break. I think you may also be playing the minix all wrong, but I can't really picture where it is as some pictures have it and others dont. It also feels like you don't play the bunkers tight enough, but then again you play pretty much farthest back.

yah they were great fields, but I wouldnt worry about my dyed lens. All it is is rit dye that dyed the antifog layer on the back of the lens. It never even touched the lens itself.

How is that possible? don't you need to imerse the item that is being dyed?

How many fields were there? because i see like 3 different field layouts.

The Widowmaker
08-16-2007, 02:26 PM
Yah there were only 3 fields and im not sure how it worked that way, but yes it was submerged entirely. However the lens itself was not dyed for some reason, rather the protective cover was dyed. Same was done to my brothers E-Vents except his layer was damaged so there are little clear gaps where it was damaged.

I'm finding this hard to follow, since thermal lenses can't be submerged, otherwise water will get stuck between the layers and fog the lenses more than an ordinary lens. I'm not saying you're a liar, its just I'm sort of in awe that it worked.

VForce thermals are single pane, not dual pane like JT masks.

sorry that you dont like my style but i guess thats just how i feel the most confortable when im playing and the looseness is because i have to watch more than one person, it happend plenty of times i know i wasent playing tight but watching 2 people at once isnt fun :)

then i still fail to see how he described it as "not getting the main lense"

its possible that the side with the anti-fog coating was more susceptible to the dye than the uncoated side, and so it dyed that quicker than it would of dyed the other side. I'm gonna dye a lense I've got sitting around and shoot the piss out of it from close range and see what happens.

lol you do that. But yah for some reason the rit dye wasnt dying the plastic itself... where the thermal layer wasnt it was still completely clear, like on the ear piece part of the lens. apparently the 5-8 minutes of rit (cloth) dying had no effect on the plastic of the lens.

I'll stand by my accusation that it doesn't sound safe until I see one in person.

Aren't E-Ventz dual pane like JT?

I've seen them in person. A fully red lense with red Profiler SE's and the lense was taking a buttload of close range shots. Wasn't damaged. Our field owner didn't like it though so he put an end to the dyed lense craze.

I was tempted to do what Timmy just spoke of... just I don't have a lense that would work nicely considering my only one that I'd screw around with is scratched to hell.

The E-ventz are sorta dual pane. I think they are more like the Profilers. JT's have two seperate layers and you can remove the thermal one. You can't do that on E-ventz IIRC.

Don't they still have a little space though? I could have sworn they come together on the sides like the Profiler, and clamp, but are dual pane. Oh well. Let us know what it comes out like. I might buy a clear one with my shop discount and make it a fade.

Well, what I meant was its not like a JT lense, but more like a dual pane Profiler. Its two completely seperate panes.
