Operation Cobra:: Allied Break Out

The Allies have made progress in Normandy, but the invasion has begun to lag.

It is General Bradley’s Operation Cobra that finally breaks the hedgerow country stalemate once and for all. The Cobra offensive leads to the long-awaited breakout from the bocage.

The assault begins on July 25 with a massive air bombardment west of Saint-Lô that the Americans hope will decimate the German front line. This is followed by a concentrated attack that initially meets with little success as American veterans of the hedgerow battle find it difficult to overcome the caution they have learned in two months of bocage fighting.

The German opposition is not organized in depth; having trouble getting reinforcements they can only form a very tough but discontinuous crust against the onslaught.

The Germans have their backs against a wall; they know they must keep the Americans stalemated in France. The Americans hope to break out of the Normandy beachhead at last, in the battle of movement they have longed for, toward the Seine - and Paris.

Come out and register for the German Army!!!

We are expecting the usual 250 - 300 players at this event (the last this year in the "RAW" series). Come out and enjoy the best field in central Virginia...with 95 acres of wooded, and fortified playing areas. Check the link for a virtual view of the field. Some of the best known teams from the Va., N.C., and Md. states will be attending (DBD, Krisis, OFU, Anarchy, OMM, A&B, MERC, ETC...just to name a few). Come out and enjoy a GREAT game!

It is that...AND, they do give out some nice stuff at these "Real American Wars" events. Fibre air tanks....sometimes markers...barrels... Packs...Gear bags...ETC, not the tiny stuff you normally see at an 8 hour game. The game play is simply AWSOME!!! The field is one of the best I have seen. Its worth traveling too to be certain. Prices are VERY LOW! Something like $15.00 registration, $50.00 a case.

Definatly worth it
