Ive never really understood why many barrels are in 2 pieces for high end guns. Like freak barrel kits. Why are they in 2 pieces? Why cant it just be one long barrel?

What it does is give you the ability to choose the bore size that most closely matches the size paint you are using.

So which part is the size that varies? Im guessing the tip? Isnt nearly like %90 of paint .68 bore anyway?

The back is where the difference is. You match your back to your paint (or go a size larger to be safe!) and the front is pretty much the same.
Paint actually varies from .679 to .692 or larger (or smaller depending on the brand.) You can't just assume that the paint is going to fit anymore. A lot of people tend to overbore so that any paint they get will fit.

And, paint can swell throughout the day. Paint that started out fitting in your 1-piece .682 barrel may end up having nothing but chops by the end of the day due to heat and moisture, where, when you have a multi-piece barrel, you can just swap up to the next size that fits and keep playing.

yea, and with a good bore to paint match it helps with the accuracy.
and by the way the freak is actually a three piece barrel if i am not mistaken.

Yes, they are. A front, back and insert.
