Hey guys I am a 35 year old father that purchased my first gun a mr1 to play with my 16 year old son so that we could spend some time together. I am looking forward to getting the gun it is supposed to come in on Wednesday. I have enjoyed looking through the forums and reading what everyone has to say. I look forward to playing and kicking my son's butt. This is a great forum and I have learned a lot about my gun already from you guys. I just wanted to say hi and look forward to reading more post from you guys.
Welcome to the friendliest(sp?) paintball forum around! If you have any questions about your new marker feel free to ask. Most importantly, go out there and kick you son's butt!

Welcome! The MR1's a great gun, plus, you'll get a kick out of everyone looking at you like you've got a cannon or a machine gun (from the sound and looks)

hey, you're almost ready for the Old Fogies rocking chair....not quite yet, but close! We'll save a spot for ya!
Welcome and glad you're posting. I was about your age when I got seriously into the game - it's been a curse ever since.

I got to shoot the gun yesterday and man is it cool. My 9 year old daughter even shot the gun and loved it so I guess she will be wanting one soon. I can't wait to play.

I personally love the MR1 and I occasionally tinker with them at our field, they are great especially for their simplistic design, and easy maintenance.

I just received my very first marker, the MR-1 last week. I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet. I hope to get to a field soon withing the next few weeks.

I love my MR-1, and wouldn't trade it for the world. For the money (about $80) you can't beat it for style (very mil-sim), and performance (simple, and easy to fix). The only gripe I have with it is that I cannot find a hopper out there, aside from an Evolution II/III that sits far enough off to one side that allows for the use of a larger sight/scope mounted directly to the top of the marker. Anyone got any good suggestions for an "offset" hopper or an "offset" weaver rail?

Thanks.... Got my Eggys (2 of them) for less than $35 bucks... Qloaders at $120 are a bit rich for me.

Welcome! The MR-1 is probably the best starting gun, in my opinion, I've had mine for about a year now, and the only upgrades I've needed so far are a new barrel and I'm needing a new hopper with an elbow, and a 20oz tank with a butt plate. I'm sure you will be happy with the gun.

JCS makes many variety of off-set weaver rails which will fit the MR1. I just bought one and in fits quite well, very tight and secure.
