The deal is I have a new comp w/ no floppy drive & my old one has one but no cd burner. How do I take files off the old one & put them on the new one with out hooking up to the net??

If both computers have ethernet, you might be able to get a crossover ethernet cable and do a direct transfer. Or, get a $10 usb card and a cheap thumb drive and transfer files that way. Or, take the hard drive out of the old comp and install it in the new one, then direct transfer (depends on OS of both machines)

Map network drive if both are on the same network. Open control pannel help for specifics how to do that

Yeah, but if you have a bunch of files to transfer that might be kind of aggravating. Probably your best option though.

Instead Of Getting One Of Those Smal 1-2 GB Flash's Go With A External Hardrive and just put all the files you need on that through USB and then just connect it to your new computer and BAMMM!!!! its there.
