A-5 to Spyder barrel Adaptor

I just recently received an A-5 Edge barrel kit instead of my S2 J&J from Actionvillage, and I was trying to find an adapter for this set. I found on on ebay, but my only real concern about it is that the adapter is almost an inch long, and if that would affect the different bore size backs I use. I don't really want to work it out with Actionvillage, because I think I got a pretty good deal out of it, as long as the adapter does what it is suppose to. I guess my main question is where does the bore size start? At the threads? and if so, would the adapter render the different backs useless?

I don't believe the adapter will render the back useless. The adapter will just kind of "funnel" the ball into the barrel back. There it will be snug in the barrel and fire as if there was no adapter. I believe, it would just be like fireing with an extended chamber.

You would just lose some gas efficciency due to the extra length.
