i purchased a tactical vest at NJ Nam and tried it out.
3 100rd pod pockets in the front and 4 140rd pod pockets in the rear.
i had serious back pain after 3-4 hours.
so i went back to my 6+1 waist harness and felt no back pain or fatigue in my shoulders.
probably never wear the vest again till it gets cold out or something, lol

anyway whats your fav. pod pack rig?

My 32* horizontal pack with Dye locklids. No fumbling to put the pod back in, or to take it out, no velcro straps, friction does all the work, and its a glorious pack.

Redz Dimension 3+2 for Speedball/tournament and general paint slinging purposes. Also use Lock lids - I love em.

For when I just wanna one ball, and for playing with my phantom, I use a shotgun belt with 10 rd tubes - I almost feel naked when I use this!

I use a Nxe 4+3+2 pack. It has lots of extra space for long games and has the elastic on the top which pushes the pods out an inch or two.

Right now I'm using a Mantis 4+3 pack. It's the most comfortable pack I've EVER owned but I'm looking to get a smaller 3+2.

:yeahthat: I <3 my Redz pack, nothing will ever compare! I just use Fat Boys and other cheap pods I can find. You know, pods are gonna break, why spend so much on them? A buck a pod is fine for me, especially since I'm guaranteed that they'll open.

NXe 4+1 Pod Pack (Camo) w/ Remote

I've heard that a lot of people get vest and don't like them, which is why I haven't and won't get one. From what I've heard vest bounce around alot and make you feel like you're carrying dead weight. Quality pod packs are designed to carry a good amount of weight tight to your body and not bounce around while running and gunning which makes you feel it less.

I've used a lot of packs, and ALWAYS go back to my Redz. 4 years now and it's as good as it ever was!

However, I disagree on the pods. I've used the same 4 locklids for 3 years or more now without a single crack, split or anything. I've slid on them, laid on them, stepped on them and thrown them empty and filled. They've NEVER come open on me, and never failed to open when I needed them to open. That's in many, many practices (every weekend while I still did tournaments) and tournaments, not to mention the rec playing I've done before, during and since that time...well worth the *gasp* six bucks apiece they cost back when I bought them!

I agree about the locklids, but I think they're in a whole different league from other pods, the plastic they're made out of is just amazingly strong, I've sat on them, laid back on them, slid on them and not a single problem yet.

It depends for me...
At the renegade field, I use a pod pack...just a run of the mill, Java 5 pod works great for me. I have a 32* 5+4 if we get big groups.

For scenarios/really large games, I picked up this Blackhawk vest. I took my System X 4+3 and cut the waist band off, made a board that 'stiffens' the harness platform and made it so that it mounts on the webbing on the back. It works awesomely.
The 2 packs on the belt/sides of the vest are for dumping empties in, carrying a spare marker+hopper...or each will carry 8 additional pods of paint each. I'm a one-man wrecking crew...lmao...

I love my older Empire Action Pack 4+5. Good support, grip, velcrow, and small size when no pods in it. It also has a hidden zipper pocket that I can put my keys and change in. I use it all the time and it hasn't ripped out on me yet.

For scenario I use a Flurry pack with a 6+4 on the back and pockets that can hold 2 more pods on the front. It also comfortably holds my radio, velcrows down to show my mission cards in clear plastic, has a zipper pouch good for a CD player, holds up to a 88CI tank, and is re-arrangeable on the back to any way you want it.

I've got 2 nxe 4+1, a black and a woodland......

I recently took part in a tourny, we were limited to 200 balls per match. so thats 2 q-loader pods, one on the marker and one extra...but how to carry it.... I didn't want to put on a 4 pod pack for one pod.......so I improvised. I got a black oven mitt(you could use whatever colour you want/can find), sewed some belt loops on it, and a leg strap with buckle and it worked awesome. The pod never came out when I didn't want it to....mind you I wasn't doing handstands or anything like that....

So yeah, my favorite pod pack....is an oven mitt.

i have a 6+1 100rd pod pmi harness w/ realtree camo :p and if im not using my remote, i'll stick 2 java 130rd pods in the tank slot. that brings me up to about 1,000rds, including my hopper. and yes, ive actually gone through my entire harness in one game. and it was the best game i ever played!

I just use 4-100 round hoppers from Wally world. (I just got back into pball 2 months ago so gimmie a break!) Seriously though, I like how I can wear them on my belt and that they dont drag me down. The only time I ever get low on paint is if we play a couple of back to back games. Then I have to monitor my consumption!
