Im looking to buy a smart parts linear barrel for my ACS and i was wondering, should I buy the 14" or 16"? whats the difference? what advantages do you get with a 16" and not a 14"?

The 14 in. Most people think after 14 inches that it's just a waste...

yea 14 is the optimal length for a barrel. the only thing a 16 is gonna do is make it quieter and waste more gas. the ball usually reaches its top velocity in the first 6-8 inches in the barrel. 16" and higher barrels usually dont have porting until 8-10 inches into the barrel. just a waste of gas

2 inches isn't going to make a difference. Air efficiency isn't going to be effected that much either, though that's the standard answer MOST people will give you. At MOST you might save 20 -50 shots, and with most fields being all-day air these days, efficiency is far from the issue it used to be.

Really, it's basically how it looks on the gun and what you're going to be using it for. Personally, I prefer a 12" - 14" barrel because I like the way it looks and I don't need to push around anything. However, a lot of people like a 16" barrel to wrap tighter around an air bunker or to push through underbrush a bit further. Plus, they like the "sniper" look of a longer barrel :undecided: ....
