What happens when you put your feet up on it? That's really cool but the price tag is way to much for the average person.

I've actually seen one of those before (not in real life of course).

Well no. Vista is more stable then XP was at release. And considering what is in vista under the hood that is pretty good. Vista is more then just pretty looks. However getting any OS on first release is risky but someone has to fully test. it because any programmer can tell you that testing is one of the hardest things to do and on a computer with millions of different combos of hardware it is pretty hard to hit ever bug... My only problem with vista is I cant afford it..

Yeah, so MS stole from him...

And Vista is fine, those Mac ads just have everyone scared about it, pathetic IMO. They claim no one can use vista without a better comp, which is a blatant lie, so long as your comp worked decently with XP, it should be fine with Vista.

that looks really cool.

and vista does require more computer than xp. you could run vista on a computer that runs XP, but you won't get everything possible out of it. it's like XP was when it was released, but i think vista handles it better.

Not completely true, my comp works perfectly with XP but is not compatible with Vista. I actually had Vista on my computer but a lot of things weren't working so I restored XP.

Ditto. I'm not concerned enough with getting Vista to drop the cash. I'm just going to wait for when I get my laptop for college, then I'll have Vista.

If your referring to the aero glass (or whatever its called) mode in vista, yeah sure, it might not work too well, especially if you lack a decent graphics card, but Vista still functions perfectly well without it. Hell, my PC that I'm on now is pretty good, but I still have all the eye candy turned off so it runs faster.

Whats the specs on your comp?

there is a way to get vista legitimatly. borrow a friends disk and freeze it's timers. then you can later put in a real product key that you bought. anyways, the table is cool. i can see it for nice home thearter systems to control the media displayed, or to activly control a tv guide (like digital systems do on the tv) i think it's pretty cool

We get the idea from that post, even if it HAS been edited :p.

I was thinking of "acquiring" Vista for Halo 2, but I've found out that there is at least one group working on getting vista games to run on XP.

IDEA:

spring up a bunch of franchise gaming cafes that have these and run some insane multi-variant games, with RTS players using these multi touch screens to control and command FPS players who are either playing the retail game or at a game franchise establishment. Like risk, but without dice.

Nenkitsune

i never thought of that! RTS games would be AWESOME on a multi touch screen!

Hob Hayward

Oooh yeah, multitouch would be totally sick for RTS's.

That would be sick, but on a scale as large as a country, if you were at the top you probably want regional leaders as well and they'd probably need people even underneath them. Thats assuming your commanding an economy, however if it were more like a Rome Total War battle that'd be SICK.

Don't mean to jack this thread but since the "that's cool" has faded we might as well. :D

Science fiction - space age story... something with RPG magic like stuff... but also "primitive" fps minded stuff like guns etc.
Multi-planet design

Sell a home version of the game, charge an MMO server fee. Void this fee at franchises, and replace with time for use of computer fee. Home version will give FPS gamers full customization, but since rts gamers probably don't have multi touch and their skills won't be augmented by in-franchise "AI" helper, we'd make them be something like ship commanders or field leaders, etc. RTS players would also be subject to Rank and upgrading - would need to request funds from internal assignment program (the server AI that keeps the fight going while people are gone)

franchise RTS will be given a large conference room and control room, multiple screens that allow full tactical control based on where they deploy satellites. Votes to be sent out to where equipment needs to be deployed to home RTS gamers.

RTS controls where FPS fights occur by assigning location, the inteface will have a built in ability to assign specific objectives. To insure that FPS guys go where they are needed RTS will control dropship "autopilot" until they are in the area, or they get shot at. again, RTS will have robots but they will cost much more to use and will have limited fighting functionality, meaning any human will easily out-gun them.

something along that lines, discuss/clarify
