I have already been cursed enough thanks... And a few of the OG boys can back up the claim of me buying 2 bikes at the same time...

05-26-2007, 05:37 PM
ok, i guess enough curses came with the name. How does it ride? And what kinda riding do u do with it?(the bike)

05-26-2007, 05:44 PM
It is light, it rides like so, but it feels like a heavier aluminum bike as far as being rigid. The gearing and the suspension are really unsurpassed as far as comfort goes. We ride heavy mountain trails and rough terrain.

http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o48/commwarrior70/Picture.jpg Full Chro-Moly frame hand-made by Richard Cunningham here in the US, she's a little dated but still one of the lightest and most rugged bikes I've ever owned.

05-26-2007, 06:47 PM
2 wheels, a seat, handle bars, pedals and a frame.. :)

I used to ride a lot then I had kids. Now I will ride again once my son is ready to cruse with me.

05-26-2007, 08:53 PM
I don't BMX anymore, but I have an origonal GT from the late '70's. I forgot the specs, but it's an origonal GT Freestyle. (I even have the origional tires with GT engraved in the treads)

My MT bike is a **** framed Shwinn (yeah this was a bad idea, but the frame was cheap)
Shimano Rapidfire shifters (I think thats the name...)
... crud. I can't think of the specs :(

It's a duel suspension frame with double walled rims, Shimanio everything... and decent front suspension. (I built it from scratch out of parts I had lieing around and ended up making a good bike... aside from the new (when Pacific bought out Shwinn) frame that you can find at walmart and the weld looks like if you take it off of a drop more then 4 or 5 feet, it will snap)

I wish I had a closer pic to show you that all the parts are my own aside from the frame, handlebars, seat and rear suspension fork.

Not bad for a "parts I had lieing around bike" eh?

The kickstand was taken off after I took the pretty pic... After an accident I had when I was 15 with a kickstand, I will never have one on any of my bikes ever again.

It flopped down when I landed after about a 3 foot of air jump off of a ridge onto a lower area in the backwoods and the kickstand went down and got stuck on a rock, sending me head over heals down a steep inclined hill that would have had me rolling about 90 feet down the hill over rocks and into trees and branches... luckly I grabbed a tree on the way down and only suffered a dislocated wrist.

05-27-2007, 06:19 AM
TRB-So basically u just do some light trail riding, no jumps...

Bamf- u know, there are 3 wheeled bikes. And 4 wheel. Does urs have training wheels?:D

Ace- Kickstands suck dont they? They are a waste.

05-27-2007, 09:50 AM
I ride quite abit around here but I only have a Trek 4500. The trails don't really require anything more then that.. I mean Im sure it would be alot nicer ride with some tricked out bike, but I don't have the money and I don't do it enough.

05-27-2007, 11:56 AM

The KX is from my glory days, I can't sell it. I started riding bikes when I was 10; raced through high school, then again in my mid 20's. This was my last race bike. The last time I rode it I caught a root in a whoop section with my boot and kicked myself in the back of the head-LOL! The doc said it would have been better if I had just broken my ankle instead of spraining it. It turned blue-black and I had an aircast for 3 weeks. Today I can tell you when it's going to rain!

05-28-2007, 10:30 AM
Really? Had no idea.. that must suck...
its not THAT bad im only 45 minutes from the border and theres a store about 15 miutes over the border so an explosiverun is only like 3 hours. its greathow the people at the store ask for a drivers license and my dad uses his michian ine and they friggen acept it no questions asked. and posession of said banned fireworks usually ends in the cops (if any of the neibors are *******s) taking away what ever you have out side your house just keep your stash inside hidden somewhere and they cant really do anything about it. well we can have fireworks but nothing that flies or has a report (everything fun)

06-05-2007, 12:03 PM
Im curious on anyones thoughts about Race Face Ride DH crankset. Managed to strip my pedal insert on the crank arms i ahve now(stockers) and i should be getting the crankset delivered tomarrow.

06-05-2007, 02:44 PM
Bike ? ... define that

 Cannondale Super-V with all Shimano XT running rear, Avid disks both ends,
Fox Vanilla RC rear, Adjustable Headshok up front ~~~~~~ Nice Bike !!

For Not pedal biking, BMW K1200 LT touring bike ~~~~~~ Nice Bike !!

:p See, Age does have it's advantages ......

06-05-2007, 02:53 PM
i had a specialized rockhopper 27speed mountian bike. dunno what it was made out of, but the frame said Ritchey Nitanium or something like that (googled nitanium to figure it out) it was really light. i'd say, 15-20lbs easily. cold forged aluminum bars, very nice brakes (could litterally stop it on a dime) and had rock shocks on the front. i won it from a pringles can. i still have it, but it's in AZ, and i couldn't get it shipped (dad didn't want to ship it, that ass hat) But, right now i've got a 2000 haro revo bmx bike. it's beaten to hell. the only upgrades i've done to it are some torker 3 peice cranks, and maxxis ringworm tires. i'm gonna get a new bike. probably a We The People Nova '07
the specialized i have back in NC

06-05-2007, 03:14 PM
For Not pedal biking, BWM K1200 LT touring bike ~~~~~~ Nice Bike !!

:p See, Age does have it's advantages ......
Never heard of BWM, is it a knockoff brand of BMW?:p

06-06-2007, 04:14 PM
Too many beers :p .... Yea a BMW knock off ;)

06-06-2007, 07:50 PM
Trading it in for 600cc streetbike as soon as I can get the extra cash, which will be never b/c pb takes all my money:p

Only 600cc's? Hell I could trade you my dad's old Yamaha.

...btw, your dog looks like hes very interested in making your bike part of his territory if you get my drift...:D

06-06-2007, 08:03 PM

trek bruiser 2 its got a new fork on it now cuz i bent the steer tube in the one in the pic... its a great dirt jumper i do 13 foot doubles and probley 5 foot drops with her and she hold up pretty good if your lookin for i bike i would recomend it and the new fork is a manitou splice 130mm

06-17-2007, 06:22 PM
Bump. So i got offered a 05 Specialized Bighit Spec from a friend for o say around 120. Im gonna work on that. The new crankset i got is awesome and worth the $$$, so if ur looking for something thats not highly expensive and wnat it to last. Get the Raceface Ride DH crankset.

06-17-2007, 06:29 PM
Grr.. I snapped my mountian bike pedal today, and I ordered my new pedals, and it cost me like 60 bucks, hope it's worth it, I also treated my self to a pedal wrench, so I can repair it.

06-17-2007, 06:35 PM
Shoulda gotten these. (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/16074-240_KORRC6-3-Parts-65-Pedals/Mountain/Kore-Race-Platform-Pedals.htm) My friends run em, havent broken em either. Price Point is ur friend, trust me.

06-18-2007, 03:31 AM
I needed special ones to fit mountain biking clip shoes, plus those are definetly more made for BMX bikes.

06-18-2007, 05:34 AM
Nope. My stock pedals are made just like that. Look at any DH bikes and u will notice they general have those style of pedals. BMXers just took the metal pedals cause they were overbuilt and wouldnt break.

06-25-2007, 06:21 PM
Now that Whiteface mtn is open, im going the july 1st. Im so excited, just cant decide on wether or not to rent a Gaint Faith 2(dh rig) or try not to commit suicide on the haro. Anyone else actually going to a mtn soon?

06-25-2007, 06:55 PM
Anyone biked at Vietnam in massachusetts?

06-26-2007, 06:25 PM
Hehe, bent my rear rim today. Long story short, tried to bunny hop a t a low speed, hit the curb sideways, and completly bent the rim. And as i type i realize not horribly to many people on kusa actually bike....

07-11-2007, 04:29 PM
Well i thought i should bring this back up.
Whats new-
Bombshell fatdaddy wheelset
Killington lift ticket
Custom over heated rear rotor, turned black...
2.35 blue groove on the back, nevegal was to fat...

07-18-2007, 10:05 AM
Sick rig, M.D.- I'm rockin a 2000 GT avalanche, 6' avid mechs, thompson 110mm stem, deore and xcr drivetrain, but my favorite is the Nokian Gazzalodi DH tires. peep where i have been downhilling at www.montanasnowbowl.com
i got up to 39.5 mph last weekend, coasting.....

07-18-2007, 01:53 PM
nice mtn, looks like a blast winter and summer. Ive heard of nokian, never really knew they had DH tires.
Dang, i need a mtn that i could go that fast on.(killington had soem stop/ slow down points lined with hay bales...)

07-18-2007, 02:38 PM
hay bales? yipe! we get these water bars, like 2-3 foot deep ditches (on the deep end) that cross the fire roads and trails- you come zoomin' in on those and catch 2-3 seconds of hang time. i can't imagine poppin' hay bales at 40 mph! and about those nokians, i can run them at 35 psi with no worries about pinch flats or rim-dings... but they weigh like 6.5 lbs each.

07-19-2007, 05:23 PM
Killington had water bars, and every so often "speed bumps". A lil diagram of how the hay bales were set up.

!=ditches/speed bumps
/=hay bales

The friend i was with runs his Maxxis minion front and high roller rear at around 25psi....he isnt to smart. But doesnt have any problems. I keep mine at around 40psi, it kinda helps like a lil rear suspension with me being on a hardtail and im not to worried their gonna pinch.

07-20-2007, 09:49 AM
hardtails kick a$$. there is one d-s i am considering, and it has taken a few years- i have to travel to canada for it, check this out:
sick, or what?

07-20-2007, 12:20 PM
Its a unique frame, not lovin the rockshox though. Also there is a few things that dont make the frame look strong. Hoo much is it?

07-20-2007, 10:54 PM
i do a lil bmx per say :P i actually hade a bmx dirt track in my backyard... the best trick i can do is a tailwhip :P

07-23-2007, 10:09 AM
well, i am a fanboy for some of the product, rockshox being one of them. i also forgot to mention the first "upgrade" to the gt, i had them throw on top-end grip shift, cant stand the rapidfire. as for the chakra, don't know how much she costs, not worried about it yet. Give it a year.... conversly, i thought the frame looked burly, what did you see as weak points?

07-24-2007, 07:16 AM
I only like the Boxxer, im a fox and marzocchi fanboy.;) U actually like the "twist" style shifter? I didnt know they still made em.
On the frame, look at where the steer tube, top tube and down tube meet. That space in the triangle reinforcer isnt what id consider strong. Also the way the shock is attached to the top tube has me worried.

But before i insalt ur fav new bike, what type of riding did u plan on doing?

08-10-2007, 12:49 PM
Well, i would just be zoomin dh. i dont think i would want to push that thing up a hill. I flet that the "triangle" up in the front (maintube+stem+toptube) might be more rigid. Yeah, marzocchi has some ill product, for sho'. G.S. Still around: http://www.sram.com/en/srammountain/index.php (they are parent of rockshox, i believe)

08-18-2007, 04:54 AM
Ya Sram is the bought out Rockshox, truvativ, avid and created pitstop. Im considering getting new brakes from them only if the avid codes are better than the new hayes strokers ryde.

05-15-2008, 01:51 PM
I figure its time to bump this up, and i got my new bike.....08 Giant Glory 0....

8" of travel in the back, 7" in the front:D
