Lil help with Xbox Live

I need some halo 2 help. I can log into live with my brothers account, but not mine. It says i need to troubleshoot, but everytime i do it still says i need to troubleshoot. And yes ive got the updated verison now. I cant figure it out. And how long does the free silver verison last? Thanks:)

You can't play online with silver version if thats what your trying to do, you need gold for that.
