So I am sitting at my desk and working on a mail routing issue, for those of you that don't know I am a Network Engineer. I was deep in thought working the issue when all of a sudden...............

KAPOW!!!

A huge explosion from right behind my head, I thought I was shot and must have screamed some not so appropriate words.

What was it you ask?

Macro hose gone wild! I had my tank hooked up and the pressure popped the hose. It scared the living poo out of me. At least now I know my heart is working. I know that because it jumped out of my chest and landed in my hands so I could check it.

It would not have been so bad if I was not so deep in thought.

half the floor came to my office to see if I had barrel sticking out of my chest or some other PB related injury. I work on my PB markers in the office all the time so it would not shock them. Needless to say I am the talk of the water cooler today.

AARRRGGGHHHHH Damn you macro line :)

you should get an on off asa so this doesnt happen again. never have had any kind of line blow out on me except when i was using a bike pump and 100 feet of air compressor hose to blow up water bottles

I do have an on/off, and I don't leave my guns under pressure when just sitting around. I was working on it and then had the issues on our network, so I got side tracked. I completely forgot about the air.

Just an FYI the hose was defective, and I am getting a whole new hose for nada.

I was going to say... that hose must have had a weak spot. Do you know what was wrong with it? Like if it had a bubble in the plastic when it was made?

I've had that happen once. Cheap macro( I think it was actually micro or something) and plastic macro fittings( Recieved free from a machine factory and it was rated for a lot less pressure) equals half the macro fitting blowing off and a loud pop that sounds like a rifel beside yor head. Scary stuff.

i hate those plastic fittings. i had one go off in my em1 once. i thought i heard a rattle snake or something (dunno why but the air leaking out of it sounded like that) then about 10 seconds after i realized it was the fitting, it went KABLAM! and hit my arm when the macro swung around. gave me a nasty mark. i'm glad the little copper disk didn't hit me, or that would've left a nasty cut. sooo now the only macro/macrofittings i have are from pete

I remember doing that once when I first started back in '99...

...I had a burn (I guess it's a burn... even though it was cold... idk) on my hand for months. Shooting a gun like crazy when it's cold out and running it off of CO2 and not realising the damage your doing to the gun when your 10 years old is always fun.
