So I've decided to get back into paintballing as summer rolls around the corner. I'm looking to go pump though, to save money on paintballs. I just couldn't sustain playing and spending that much on paintballs, especially during speedball.
So I've got a question for you guys. Do you think it is less expensive to build from scratch, or buy a non upgraded/used one and upgrade from there?

I would say just buy the non-upgraded one and slowly get used to it. Then If you like it from there upgrade the hell out of it.

thanks for that perspective. i never thought that when i finish building a pump cocker from scratch i might not like it. that would blow.

I would buy a cocker for cheap and throw a pump kit on it, if you look hard enough you can pick up a complete 04 prostock for around 100 then it's 30-80 depending on the pump kit you pick up.
Also if you end up not liking it pump cocker's tend to sell at the moment and probably shouldn't have a problem unloading it on somebody else.
