Take the cocking pin 'set screw/spring/ball bearing' assembly apart. You may have some trouble since it's set with loc-tite. Re-assemble it with the cocking pin in. (I used my wife's nail polish on the threads for loc-tite; it holds but can be broken easier than red loc-tite) While turning a half turn at a time, tighten the set screw until you can no longer remove the pin. Then back it off (loosen) until it comes out with some effort. You have now tightened-adjusted the assembly that holds tension on the cocking pin, thus holding it in place.
