This is completely normal. It is the co2 that was left in the gun being discharged. There is a couple of ways you can handle it. Number one is to make sure the gun has no balls in it, then slowly unscrew the tank and when you hear it start to hiss shoot the gun until it won't shoot anymore. Another option is to get an on/off with a "bleed" function. This is basically a valve that you can close that lets out all of the excess air in the gun before you take off the tank.

How much does a bleed function cost?

You would have to buy a new on/off. It ranges from 30-50$. You would also have to buy an adapter for the on/off to work on the trigger frame. Below are some links of an adapter and on/offs.

Custom Products Direct Mount On/Off (http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=xeSE1I9o_g-FjclF80FEfIXO-nKQ3FYijaw=?ProductID=W_jAqArbb24AAAEDBgDO1UdG)

Trinity On/Off (http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=xeSE1I9o_g-FjclF80FEfIXO-nKQ3FYijaw=?ProductID=Ck_AqArbX_oAAAEOK8w0w78d)

These are only a few. The only one I have had experience with is the Custom Products one and it works great. Anymore questions just ask.
