you notice i cut that top part off. that conects to the visor and supposivly a head guard. like you can go look at a normal vantage. and see.

i'm also wondering if anyone has found a new strap that will work on this mask. or if you have any ideas. the old one is getting kind of grotey.

They are the same exact thing.

By chopping off the forehead guard you actually did good. It opens up the vents more, and it lowers the profile of your mask. I've seen it done alot. A good solution to those who don't desire a mask upgrade, meerly a modification.

Any strap for V-Forces or JT's will work. I did that mod to my mask and then soft-eared as well as double-strapped it. It's alrite, bit tight on my ears though. I'll get some pictures of it if I get a chance as to how to connect the straps... It's fairly common as Ace said, and I much prefer it to the Stock Vantage. Now I just need to come up with something to keep my glasses from fogging... :(

Shaving cream. Put some on the glass then wipe it off. Should keep them fog free for months.

DO NOT DO THIS ON GOGGLE LENSES!!!! It works on glasses because the lenses are glass (PS also works on shower mirrors ;)) Goggle lenses are treated and you don't want to use anything on them that may weaken them. You only have one pair of eyes, don't mess with them.

As for the goggle mod, nice I like it, but you wont be able to wear them on some fields. They don't allow modified goggles everywhere.

I haven't had a problem with my local fields with my goggles yet, but for when they do I still have a trusty pair of Scott's... Tippmann Power Pack goggles ftw! ;)

Thanks for the tip, Dan... I usually just use the dish-soap method on my glasses, but it doesn't work quite well enough. I'll have to try the shaving cream out next time I go playing. :)

Here's some pictures of my mod (yeah, I know I have paint stains on the soft ears and the pix are blurry... bite me... www.softearmods.com is the best place for soft ears, btw!):

I have to say Red... thats the nicest job I've seen done to a Vantage. It's pretty amazing what a little time can do haha.

Personally, I want a Hybrid JT strap for my Profiler. Either that or an Urban Camo one... Just take the Profiler strap clips, take the strap, cut the thread holding it around the clip, then take the JT's, slide it through the clip slot, then sew it. Voila! :) (On a side note... anyone know where I can get those urban camo straps?)

Thanks for the complements, Ace. :) I didn't put much time into it, actually. Just some patience with an Exacto knife, a pair of scissors, and a Dremel with an abrasive wheel is all it takes. ;) I actually took the double strap mod off before I took those pictures because I liked the mod better on my Scott's. Very simple to do, though... Just have to shove the ends of the suckers through the slits on the frame.
