Just got my catalog yesterday and thought some of you would like to see what Kingman's cooking up for the MR markers -

Awesome that they listened to the forums and are releasing a raised rail and better stock :P.

Maybe I was just hoping it was a 14. I have no need for a 16, even though I play in the woods.

Oh come on. The stock is a knock-off some stocks already out there. I have to say I'm not too impressed. I think they would have done a much better job at releasing some newer barrel shrouds or a better front grip to match the markers and allowed more flexibility for use of aftermarket products.

Sorry to be negative, I really don't see anything exciting except for the better looking grips....which oddly enough look just like pats grips......hmmm starting to wonder if he got abducted by aliens......

I have to agree with Viper here, those grips look strangely familiar....

Anyways, I already own a JCS folding stock which gives excellent mask clearance and, in my opinion, looks better than the new stock in this catalog

FINALLY I CAN GET A FREAKING RAIL FOR MY MR1 AND PUT A RED DOT ON IT WITHOUT SPENDING CLOSE TO $100!!!! AHHHHHH!

Took long enough! I have been looking for one for like 4 months now hahaha. :pissesself:

Yeah, so that red dot sight and the rail are going to be mine. :twitch:

Yea I think its a lil funny about the grips knock off of pats. What can you say he advertised on their forums so what do you expect, and personally I like the fact that mine are custom. I think my Proteam f/x stock looks way better than that one. That's just my 2

Taillo
04-11-2007, 01:27 PM
Is the raised sight rail 3/8 or 7/8?

mr1gunner
04-11-2007, 01:49 PM
7/8 it can fit ure mr1. I think that kingman should try to make a new stock. The mr3 is good, but they should try to come up with new ideas. The only thing i see here that would be valueable to my mr1 is the raised sight/carry handle and maybe the red dot.

DRAGON
04-11-2007, 02:23 PM
Funny that some of you should mention Kingman copying Pat's grips lol. You make it sound as though he's the first one that has ever made wrap around grips. They've most likely been working on these ups since last year if not planned them when they were designing the markers. At least you can rest assured that these will be available lol -

Don't think I'll be getting any of those accessories but I will be getting one of these 4+1's. I'm thinking these are exactly what I was looking for cept it's not a vest as initially planned. It does look like it shouldn't be slipping off even w/a 68/4500 in it. Pods are exactly in the position I like them.....NICE sick pattern! - :waytogo:

For what ive seen, it looks like the raised sight handle is made to attach on a 7/8 rail, but has a 3/8 on top, is it right?

Can someone with an mr3 confirm this with the original mr3 carry handle?

I don't believe anyone copied anyone here - Pat's grips come in 2 pieces. I personally feel Kingman's grip might be more comfy for those with bigger hands. But Kingman should've planned it better - the stock grips are terrible!!! I hope they make these the stock grips for MR4 when they decide to make it available.

In any case, C'mon Kingman - make us one of these!!

I picked up a used 98 a few weeks ago. Most of my friends have them, so I decided to buy one as a loaner/rental. All I've heard about is their durablity and reliability on the field. As soon as I got it home I decided to take it apart and reassemble it. What a mess! It took me over an hour to get that thing back together (tiny springs kept popping out at and I had to crawl on the floor to find them).

Compare that to my MR2: I can take it apart and reassemble it in less than ten minutes. No tiny springs, only one screw and a pull pin.

After that experience, I will never buy a Tippy again. I just got my brother-in-law to buy an MR1 for his first marker, my sister will get one later this month, and I just bought an upped MR1 for my wife.

Anyways, after looking at the new MR2 grips I have to agree with ya Dragon, they aren't a knock off at all. If they only came with the MR2 in the first place...

I didn't *plan* on taking a bath with mine, but it happened anyway. I slipped on the muddy banks of the nicely flooded stream that cuts the local field in half. I *thought* I'd kept it out of the water, but enough splashed in to fry the board.

I replaced it with the verC T board but i'd like it not to happen again. Tighter fitting grips would be worth the cost.

It's basically sensless to try to waterproof the electronics. There are just too many cavities and way besides the grips for water to get to it. The best way is to do as I do.....don't play in the rain -

grinder
05-19-2007, 09:45 PM
I managed a pretty good seal with mine. I used silicone around the grips and screws, also to fill the led and around the charger plug in. Then I siliconed a sheet of poly over the switch with enough slack to allow me to move the switch. Wouldn't take a bath with it but I am comfortable enough to take it in the rain.

All that being done as soon as some top quality grips are made available I will buy a set.

That's why I got an MR1. I fried my board on my Fenix a long time ago when I first got it. Woodsball + muddy, aggressive, "sniping" and lieing down in puddles because thats the only advantage spot you have (yeah... I'm that hardcore... lmao) will fry your board.

I can't wait to finally get my hands on a MR3 rail that NO ONE wants to sell even though the MR3 has the largest rail available on the MR series and can have pretty much anything put ontop of it (that fits the rail standards of course).

I wonder how much the Red Dot sight will cost. I might actually look into it if it's as good as the other ones on the market. Kingman has a reputation for keeping things semi affordable so I assume it won't cost more then $40. It should be conditioned for paintball too since it's a Kingman product. That way I wouldn't have to worry about a lense hit, like I would on one of the competition ones.

(Kingman also has a reputation for making durable stuff. Hell look at the Fasta... those shells are more durable then most of the electronic hoppers I see. ...and I'm still looking for a way to break the old Spyder my brother has... That thing has lasted so many years of abuse... )

i cant tell if thats expensive or cheap,

after comparing the price to the emr1 and keeping in mind how much the emr1 cost $140-$160, it doesnt seem to cost that much,

my guess would be the rail is around $10-$15 and the stock is like $20-$30ish

I was trying to buy the grips and rail but when I got to the checkout they were charging me $25 for shipping. For that much I will wait till it hits the US.

How come these accessories didn't hit the U.S. first? Isn't kingman's headquarters in in California? Don't get me wrong I want that sight rail, but why not us first.

I am getting an MR1 and would like to start on some accessories. What is the most important accessories for me to buy. also I would like to minimize the hopper for better concealment, what are some good methods for doing this?

I dont know about MR1s but my best advice is as you start playing with it...you'll know what your needs will be and each gun is different...so just get out there-play and see other player's accesories maybe you'll find something you'll like.

So did anyone get the grips? If so how are they?

I did they are nice and grippy and seem to provide better protection for the internal electronics. But the are a little short on coverage on the upper part of the frame leaving two small metal pins exposed but this is no problem as far as I can tell. I also find the finger indentations don't conform to my hands properly, that all said though I find them better and more comfortable than the stock grips.

Yes I must agree, a little short on protection but I must say its a vast improvements over the stock grips. As for the price I would definitely recommend these grips to all MR2 user. I love my grips, now my MR2 is almost complete.

You can see the little silver dots on the upper left of the grip, which the stock grips cover but the new ones dont. those are the metal post I was refering to in my previouse posting. they are flush with the exterior, I dont know what they are for exactly but I assume they hold some pice of hardware inplace inside the marker.

I believe they hold the microswitch in place.
