I recently was at a field and was trying to chrono my gun. But it was all over the place and seemed like no matter which way I adjusted it, the fps just went up. So I have heard that air is more consistent and was hoping this might resolve the problem.

Are there any suggestions for setup and/or equipment(brand?)? High pressure or Low Pressure? Tank size? Do I need a regulator? I'm still new to this so any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

well i can give you my opinion but in the end its up to you. the only brand that i use is pmi. you should get a high pressure tank. i would probably get an 88/4500 due to the mr2 not being an overall air effeciant gun, but you would be ok with a 72/3000 if you are on a budget. i dont think that you need a reg. i hope this helps!

If you're shooting in cold weather and using C02, what you were experiencing were C02 spikes from liquid C02. If there is no anti-siphon in the tank there can be spikes as well. You can help tame the velocity w/a spring kit. Just use a lighter main spring. Inconsistencies could also be caused becuase the marker may just need to be broken in a little -

If you have the cash for an HPA tank, don't get a cheap one unless you're willing to take a loss later when trying to sell it because you realize that the tank doesn't have the shot capacity you'd like. Get an HP 70/4500 stubby Crossfire. The tank already has a reg -

Well, it was about 90 degrees outside when we were playing, so I don't think the weather was an issue. :)

I was using a PMI 20oz tank, and I believe those to be pretty good quality. But it may not have the anti-siphon. I don't know for sure.

As for the spring, it should be well broken in. I went through the whole "break-in" procedure that I have seen listed on this site a few times. But maybe a lighter main spring is still needed?

I got about 500 shots with my 88/3000 filled to only 2500 and then i still had about 1000psi left. Id say keep checking pb store sites closeout area until u see a nice tank. i did that and i got my Java 88/3000 for 134. Not bad i think.

before i got the ak-47 ex chamber i was getting around 500-600 shots with my 72/3000. now i get close to 900. i would reccommend a 68/4500 or an 88/4500. you can get them for a good deal all day long on pbn.
