Is the BT Apex barrel reallly that great and worth the money or would the JJ ceramics barrel a good bet.
I've haven't heard very good things about the Apex. I would stick with the J&J. I haven't seen many people have problems with those.

I've had several J&J Ceramics...still have a Spyder threaded one I mounted on an M98 with a LapCo adapter. Love it. Best $20 I ever spent on a used barrel in great condition...

Had a 14" J&J Ceramic on my pilot ACS. Nice and quiet and good accuracy. I have the J&J S2 in 12" on my ion, but didn't really like it. I don't know if it was the length or what. I just bought a 14" freak kit a little while ago and problem solved.
When every is see an Apex, which isn't very often, I chuckle to myself. Curving shots, what a ridiculoas idea. Shoot, adjust, shoot adjust, damn I've been hit 5 times while I was screwing around with the barrel.

tsk tsk. It's called the APEX for a reason. The thing is amazing. My kills have gone up 200% since I got it (according to the specops tracker) and you have TONS more confidence. It only takes a couple games or a few hours of practice to figure it out. Get one. Pwn Peeps. (although I am scheming on a freak back for my apex tip....)

I love my J&J 14"
I practice often at hitting small objects like coke bottles and spray paint cans at 20, 30 40 and even 50 yards. Get asked on how I can hit them so easy with no sights. I just say "I use the FORCE".
I play alot of woods ball, and on my fields concept field with various bunkers and a 2 story castle. So I like taking very accurate shots and not painting bunkers with a rope of paint.
Guess hunting for over 1/2 my life and prefer archery and blackpowder I am use to "one shot, one kill" mind set.
