Tired of Gluing detents to your Timmy eye covers?

Well,

I didn't like the idea of gluing detents into my eye covers, and this idea popped into my head.

I took some thin plastic sheets, and made a pattern to fit in the space available on the backside of the eye cover.
I made them long enough to be able to put the eye cover screw on and trimed them around the notches to ride in the body groove.
I cut around the eye groove to get a nice fit on the cover.
I drilled the appropriate sized hole for the eye cover screw and a hole slightly smaller than the base of the timmy detent. So when you out the detent throught the hole you grab the little tit end and pull it to seat it.

You then place the plastic assembly into the eye cover and then screw down to your marker.

The plastic is slightly larger than the eye cover to insure that the eye cover sandwiches the plastic between it and the body. Hardly noticeable.

So far it works great and replacing a detnt is lightning fast!

drill and tap for eyes and eye covers or find someone who can do it for you.

I never needed to glue them, they stuck in pretty darn well.

I bought slightly stiffer than stock timmy detents, they were becoming rubber projectiles.
