If you're gonna try to build a custom body for the VS series, you should either use aluminum because it has a good strength to weight ratio and is commonly used in paintball. Problem is aluminum scratches pretty easy and isn't the lightest if you don't want it to break easy. What would be pretty insane would be if you or another company made a custom body of plastic or other composite materials, sort of like the PMR 07. That would be incredibly light, great for custom paint, cheap to make/buy, and easy to shape. only problem is it makes the gun like those made in China toys, it would break first time you hammered it in a slide unless you really engineered it right.
A good way to design such a custom body is the computer software thats free called eMachine Shop. Google it and the download is free. Its a design software thats 3-D and you can choose every aspect of the product in design as well as production like materials and if the product is drilled, milled, laser cut, etc. They even price it for you, but its expensive unless you make them in bulk then sell them.
